Choosing the right childcare is an extremely difficult decision for any parent to make and one that you will agonise over whilst choosing a setting for your precious little one! I know only too well the worries and concerns you will have ensuring your child receive's the individual attention they require and be happy and content in a warm, comfortable and secure setting – which is why Littluns offers all of these together with a fun and stimulating learning environment for little people aged 6 months to 3 years.
Research shows that babies and children thrive from learning through play in small groups and in familiar surroundings. At Littluns we believe one of the key factors that sets us aside from other childcare settings, is our preference for a small group of children. All childcare settings require high carer/child ratio's, but the overall size of the group is equally important and why at Littluns, our numbers are kept deliberately small - creating a sense of security, belonging and overall individual attention. At Littluns every member of staff genuinely loves caring for small children and this is evident as soon as you walk through the door.
Our beautiful and purpose built rooms including a new 'soft play' and 'sleeproom' and gardens have been carefully designed within the grounds of an existing family home and with a child’s needs uppermost in mind. We can provide your child with a warm and friendly environment and offer them as much love and support as you would, whilst encouraging your child to develop at his or her own pace, helping them to grow in confidence, independence and social skills.
As an ex full time working mother, I struggled to find the flexible childcare which allowed me to pursue my own busy working life. With this uppermost in mind, Littluns opens longer hours – your child can be included for breakfast from 7.30am* and we are open until 6pm 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Our only closure is Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.**
I understand how busy a working parent is first thing in the morning and at Littluns we try to ease that stressful time by providing EVERYTHING your child will need during the day, allowing you to literally, drop off and go…..
All nappies, formula and cows milk is included in the daily charge as are the hot meals and snacks, which are all prepared on the premises. For further peace of mind once you are happy that you have chosen the right childcare, we offer free ‘settling in’ periods which allows your child to become familiar with new surroundings and allows us some time to understand each individual child’s routine.
We see the care of the children as a partnership between ourselves and parents, and why mums and dads are always welcome at the setting. We hold a number of informal events and gatherings throughout the year which is an excellent way to get to know the other parents, we produce a monthly newsletter which gives you topic information as well as plans for the coming month and what we're up to generally. We encourage the children to celebrate all cultures of celebration from Easter, Chinese New Year and Hanukkah to Halloween and Christmas and we hold fundraising days – Barnado’s, Feed the Children and our most recent Red Nose Day campaign where our children helped to bake and decorate over 600 fairy cakes to sell - three such very worthy causes who we assist to help raise money and aid for. But most importantly, we are always available to discuss a child’s progress and offer daily feedback of a written kind by way of our Daily Care Sheets.
* To ensure correct staff/child ratio's at all times a 7.30am start must be confirmed at contractual stage or with prior notice. We are unable to accept casual drop offs without prior warning before 8am.
** Force Majeur: Littluns Day Care cannot be held liable for the withdrawal of a placement due to third party action. This will include closure due to fire, flood, storm, etc. In cases of temporary closure, e.g. inclement weather or any other reason, no refunds of any fee paid or liable to be paid will be given.
